Projects Project "AREA 51" 51 Mercury update

Looking good Chad. Need the inspiration for my two builds....

 

Damn that looks good on the trailer with the sun peeking out over it. The lines look great Chad, nice restraint on the mods!

 

Cool pictures. Looks great. I suppose this means a color was chosen????? Are you going to make us wait?

 

It's gonna be flat black with spider web pin striping...

 

Thanks for the comments guys. I think the mods worked well and sometimes think I may have gone a little far on the taillights. Ive been looking at them for so long, they have worn on me.

We are still working on color choices and spray outs. Ive got an idea but trying to describe it is hard. A real pain in the paint!!! Hope to get it home soon for a little assembly pics!!!!

The bodyman worked his tail off and nailed it!!!!

Its been gone so long it has real cobwebs on it, no pinstripe needed!!!!!

Matt, thats funny shit right there!!!!! Actually, the only reason I got the little guy was to have something to put the extra 49 coupe doors in to get them out west!!!!!!! Ide die for a photoshop,,,, Flam Pink and White scallops......now ya got me thinkin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Chad, cool teardrop. Is the body made out of aluminum? I would polish it just like the AirStream trailers from back in the day. Hope you are not going to paint it the same color as the MerK? That would look "street rodder".

Thanks guys, It is a custom color. Took a TON of sprayouts to get it right. The pics dont do it justice. I wanted a maroon that didnt turn too purple or brown in the shade. The paint dang near looks like a candy! Kelly Brian Puckett NAILED it!

 

Wow! I also imagined your merc in black or dark blue, but I must say I like this even better. Great call Chad, and great execution. You could only go stealth for so long. Now get it together and slap that chrome on it!

Nope, no metallic on this one. I wanted to go with a solid color. Hope to get it color sanded and start reassembly over Christmas holiday. Between body, paint, and chrome I have eaten up my next 5 years birthday and Christmas presents!!!!! The interior may have to wait for a little while. Still trying to decide on an interior color!!!
