I install carpet out of Fred(the Ford). And Dottie(the Dodge) has bailed me out when Fred has been dead. Both are driven 3 to 7 days a week.

This is my truck that i have owned for 17 years. It has been a daily driver for all of those years except for when i was rebuilding it.[IMG]

  9. Took a delivery job; bought a $300 Geo Metro. All of a sudden, the mileage makes me a profit.

It didn't when I started out delivering out of Nellie...

I bought her a year ago to use as a daily; am going to start a new job next week, so I will start putting miles on her again.

Lulubelle has been a driver (split 50/50 with my '49 Plymouth) when I first got her... then in a decade of hibernation... and then driven to work at least weekly since she got back on the road. Until the delivery job. No WAY am I feeding a 383 with two AVSs! But, I did take her out for pizza a week or so back.

By the way, when she had the flathead, she used to take a quart of oil to get from Jackson park, down to the Ballard bridge (about fifteen miles), and another to get home again. She had a 5 gallon bottle of oil in the bed.

  11. Love it! We had one just like this, I had a two tone Tan over Met.Fawn, 327,
tinted windows, cold AC and more,... loved that car and drove it daily.
Sure do miss it. Rust and wrecks stink...

I work from home so I don't drive every day. When I do leave the house it is in my truck. There is a car seat in it all the time because my 2 year old son loves to ride in Daddy's truck.

Here is my daily driver. 1961 Pontiac Tempest 2 dr Cp. 4 cyl with 1 bbl carb, 2 spd automatic. All original un-restored. Engine has been overhauled. Car turnd 500K miles August of 09. I average 18 Mpg in town & have gotten as much as 28 Mpg on the interstate at 70 Mph. I have had this car to California so many times I have lost count. Have had it to El Paso Tex & Alb. Nm also. I average 20 to 35K miles a year.

Here it is parked on the street in Tucson Az when I was purchasing another car.

Here is a shot in the shop at work.

Also a shot of it coming back from StJohns Az last year when it turned 500K miles. The car in front of me is my good friend Steve Barcak driving his 72 455HO GTO towing the fuel dragster back to Phoenix after a weekend car show.
