Yep.... it will take me 5 mins to put the seat back in and I'm on my way. Now to talk mama into it is another thing.

If anybody would be so kind as to tell and idiot (myself) what you have to do to get this stance without bags?? Parts list would be helpful. or how many coils cut? 2" drop spindles? etc. Is the owner of this truck on here? cause i would really like to talk to him! this truck sits perfect!
    any help would be appreciated.

Looks like everything is for stepsides not fleetsides. Did I miss something?

Tubular Goose- If you want static (no air) drop and get it as low as you can go, I would recommend 2.5" drop spindles and s-10 springs- once you get them in and cut half of your bump stops off you can see if you want it a little lower. Then take a half a coil out at a time. That should give you an inch per half coild cut.

Then if you are still not low enough, notch the front crossmember 1 1/2" for that much more drop. That is AS LOW AS YOU CAN GO in the front with no air.

Now for the back, many options up to 5" but if you want more it is time to notch the frame. Lets say best scenario in my opinion is 5" lowering springs or Jeep springs with lowering blocks and a CPP or Suicidedoors or Porterbuilt C-notch for the rear.

Personally I have no frame or crossmember modifications yet but they will be on the way next year. Thanks for the PM too man and good luck.

Making some progress on my '66. Sorry for the bad camera phone pics. New tranny goes in, some test drives and then I tear it all apart for paint.

Here are a couple pictures of my 1961 4x4 shortbox, fleetside, big-rear-window Chevy. It was upgraded to newer axles, power steering & SBC engine. Ran great with very little rust. Sold it last year and already miss "Old Blue". -Andy

It's a 63 v8 auto big window! can't wait to get started!

    Here's a little update on my '62:
I swapped a '60 grill into it a long time ago. Finally got a '61 hood.
To get into The Hunnert Car Pileup last month, we lowered it four inches front and rear, and swapped the stock steelies for a set of Ansens I found at my swap meet last year.
Today I got the factory passenger-side spot light mounted.
I've owned it for 5 years (bought off the HAMB). It's my daily driver, and I've got 35000 miles on the crate motor I dropped in a little over 3 years ago. This year it went to Ohio/Michigan/Indiana, Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, and we're driving it to Floriduh next week, and it's going back up to Ohio for Christmas.

That's cool. Mine's pretty much done for now. Just driving it to work nearly every day. I may wimp out later this winter. It's getting kinda cold with the old recirculating heater. Might as well be a heater delete. Southern truck.

  29. Drove my 65 to Hot Rod Revolution in Austin Saturday, this had to be one of the best shows I've been to.The venue was so appropriate for the cars being shown. If you haven't seen the pictures, go to the events section. Hope Ryan and the crew do it again next year!!!
