a quick hemi question

    my 354 spit a freeze plug out on me sunday and i forgot to look and see what size it was before i put it back in the garage. Now the car is about 35 miles from me and i need to get a replacement. does anyone know right off what diameter a 354 freeze plug is?

    I went out to the shop and measured one off of mine...I got a 1 5/8 Measurement...I could be wrong..it was dark and freezing out there......sorry

    1 1/2" (1 9/16?) on 331, most likely the same.

  7. I have had several fall out on me, at different times, luckily always at convenient times. Two were installed by a well known builder, and I had given him a set of the Hot Heads plugs to install when he built the motor, but he insisted on using the original style. I have since replaced them on both my hemi's with the Hot Heads stainless bolt in style, and stopped worrying.

    Or just use a little JB Weld.

    thanks guys. I'm going to try one more stock one. if i lose anopther i will be getting the stainless hot heads plugs

    1 5/8 dish style, use brass plugs, dont get carried away pounding them flat that's when they fail.

    it was pretty quick, just sorta sits there right now though. I got a couple new plugs on the way. thanks for the help. saved me takin a trip to the shop.
