That's a very young Dizzy Gillespie to the left of Duke. And Muggsy Spanier playing the cornet next to the bass player. The clarinet player next to Diz might be his fellow Philadelphian, Jimmy Hamilton.

Could that be the infamous Pete Best on the extreme right, before Richard Starkey assumed the drums in that little known band.

It's not Pete. Stu Sutcliffe? He wasn't that dorky looking generally but he did wear glasses. I'm thinking just a dorky friend as Stu played bass.

Simple and stylish. Reminds me of a couple of recent animated movies about robots. Still, I'm surprised the Shriner jokes haven't started yet. Gary

Cool webpage and pics of the Motorette!
I'd never heard of them before. I wonder
if there are any surviving examples?
    Imagine "hot-rodding" one by replacing
the original 4 hp 1-lunger with a big,
    hopped-up modern-day bike engine - ie
    - something like a 250-plus hp turbocharged
    Hyabusa maybe!! 'Lunatic-Scary' or what!!!!

"Lunatic-Scary" would be a major understatement....:)

    ...............................

"Famous owners of the Motorette include the American comedian Bob Hope who wanted “an extra “get-about car” where no car could go."

There is a Motorette in the Buffalo transportation Museum(Pierce Arrow Museum)
They of course, were built in Buffalo NY.
They originally were for getting around in a huge factory, but then as a commuter car.
Bob Hope was a spokesman for the company.
    Forerunner of the golf cart?

The other day I ran across several episodes of I Dream of Jeannie on TV land (I think).
Horrid scripta\s and all, lousy acting, but timeless.
I couldn't help but notice that in almost evey scene Eden was wearing a different outfit. Every one a knockout.
And every guy's fantasy, a girl in a bottle, ready to grant your every wish........
