If anyone is interested... some of the cars pictured in this thread are still being exhibition raced. It started yesterday and runs throught he weekend is the DAARA Winter Nationals at Orlando Speedworld. There should be about 50 vintage modifieds from all over the US and Canada. It's a great time. I will have my car at the one in February.

Denny I asked my step sister about the J-2 that her dad owned. She said the J-2 was sold to another person and from what she heard that it got into a accident shortly after. My mom has no clue what happen to it either. I guess Red Foote would have the best Idea about it. He is in Va.?

Picture 7161. That is the best picture of Harold Cope's #1 that I've ever seen. The driver is Rags Carter. Just love the view of the 427 FORD

Great pics Bull, the 48 and 48jr were my late old friend Slim Rominger's cars from from Clemmons, NC. the #9 Vega is Ralph Brinkley, who also had cool blue Corvairs that he ran at Bowman Gray. Slim's cars ran there a long time!

This is a late model. I think the year is 1972, the track is Fonda Speedway and the driver is Harry Peek. Hw was a true gentleman and the master of teh "Patented Peek Charge," where he would charge to the front in the waning stages of a race.
