Sounds like sour grapes to me but I don't know the whole story.

  2. I know exactly where it is too and man is he going to hear from me !!! And I have plenty of used stuff Jay could come build engines out of LOL !!! >>>>.

  3. I do have a good model A frame, to mount my '26 roadster body on. I do not really remember for sure how I did aquire it? ? ? But most importantly, the numbers match the title that I have! ;) I am building this roadster for povertyflats to purchase from me. Another thing, good ole' NoSurf can build hot rods faster than Engine Pro 5X or I could ever think of getting one to mock up stage.

Love it Jay, the ladies are a lot of help as well as the ol guard dog hangin in there. Is the lawn chair really traditional? My bros Rob Lee and Dick Warsocki are taking two home built rides to the Revolution in Austin, can't wait. A little snap of them. ~Sololobo~

It's great that the young ladies are involved and deem enthusiastic about it. Keep them growing with the project.

I thought you had some new pics... I've seen all those. Let's see the bowl cut! And use that razor I got you, Hippie!

And just when I thought I'd heard it all, I get a new phrase from the HAMB...."gold chainer!"

Well, let's get this thread back on track shall we?

This past weekend I made a go at building a speedster seat. I wanted a bench style so I could squeeze a third person in front if needed. All week I pored over pics of vintage style speedster seats. I did some measuring and drew up a plan in cadd, and then plotted it 1:1 scale.

I had a sheet of 1/2" plywood left over from some other project.

Next, for the back, I had this old bent up round bale feeder in my scrap pile.

The sheet bottom was 16" and heavy enough gauge to work.

Here it is attached to the seat bottom:

Next I drew out the curves to trim it and cut one side. Then I used the scrap piece to transfer to the other side so they would be somewhat similar. Then I found a few pieces of nice thick welding rod to use as a edge. I clamped it and tacked that on.

    Here it is:

    "Dad!! can I try!!"

    "I wanna drive!!"

So next I had to try it out:

(Sorry for the crappy video. Momma NoSurf is getting a new dig cam soon.)

Well- that was Saturday. Yesterday I started on the wooden pickup bed.

Why does progress move at lighting speed at your garage? The girls? the dog?
I see you even put some angle in the seat mount and back, smart.

This is looking good, can't wait to see pics of the bed on the chassis... or the haircut.

I can't tell who is having more fun with that, you , the girls or the dog. It won't be long and the three of them will be wheeling it around the back pasture.

I was thinking the same thing, how does he do it?

Kind of looks like Kansas has their own version of Jim Sibly

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

I am having fun working on it.

As far as getting stuff done, I generally start pretty early on the weekends. I am out in the shop by 5-5:30am. I just try to plan ahead as to what I can get done so I can be efficient with my time.

I don't drink coffee either. That just slows me down.

I got a little bit more done last night:
