I'm looking to run 16 inch steel wheels on my Model A, but I'm having a hard time finding a vintage OEM wheel. I need it to have either a 5x5 or a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. I have wide 5's with coker classic 16x6's on the front and would like to run 16x7.5's on the back. I used roadkill custom's database, but came up empty. I came up with a mitsubishi wheel that would work, but i think it looks modern. What 16 inch steel wheels are you guys running? [IMG] Thanks alot.

look for old late 30s till late 40s 40s dodge truck wheels. they are 4.5 on 5 and 16. but they might look dumb with the wide 5s in front.

16' with 5 inch bolt circle?

I did have a list because I needed two of those

I ended up with 39 Stude wheels. 16x4.5 wide, 5" Bolt Circle.

Packard commercial like hearse, ambulance and limo would be the widest but hard to find.

16 with the 4.5 pattern is easy...mopars had them

Pics below. Same matching 6.50x16 Firestones mounted on 39 Stude wheels. The right rear wheel was widened by 2 inches on the back side. Have not done the other side yet.

You want them 7 1/2 inches wide? That's pretty wide for an early wheel. You might want to find some nice centers from a 40's car with the right bolt pattern and weld a wider hoop onto them. Wheelkid can do that.

  5. I recently bought some plain steel 16X5's with 5 on 5" bolt circle on eBay. They were Kelsey Hayes wheels supposedly for early 90's GM pickups. They are riveted construction so I removed the centers and put in 5 on 5.5 early Ford centers.

It's too bad that you don't want a skinnier wheel, because junk yard spare tire wheels for some Mopar products are 16" (5 on 4.5). They're only about 4" wide, however. They're dirt cheap & most of them have never been used. Check out mine.

I was thinkin' the same thing!

  10. If that black wheel you posted is from a Mitsubishi what,s the problem ? Just needs another colour. The other three pics are from the hamb. The often discussed milk truck wheels. Five holes instead of six, big deal.

Thanks guys. 34 Gaz, those pics help alot. I figured it would look too modern, but they look damn good on that roadster. Might have to rivet on the clips and see if i can find a dogdish that will fit in there. You guys are awesome. BTW, after searching, Coker doesn't make a "Coker Classic" that's 7.5 wide so i gotta go with a 6.5. I was trying to get a big and little look going, but 1 inch in diameter probably wouldnt make enough difference to notice.
