I can't take the credit for producing this video... theres a gentleman that lives about an hour from here that produced a few "Gassers of the 60's" on you tube ,that i ran across in September, and just so happens , my Dad was one of his favorites... After he came and met my Dad in October at test and tune, we exchanged e-mails, and i sent him all drag racing pics that had been stored in a trunk for 40 yrs.... and with his 8mm footage & photos he took too, he put this video ... Priceless... to me .

awesome awesome awesome. That short wheelbased little car certainly handeled like a freight train, up up and away, no drama. Thank's for sharing and keep the good stuff coming.

 

Not to many videos come on here i have enjoyed watching, but this is what it was all about when i was younger, brings back the good times. Very very nice.

The coupe's been loooong gone.. dad sold it around 1970... I wanted desperately to find a coupe; but they must be made of gold~ and i got Starbucks taste and a Kool-Aid budget

That as so COOL to watch! Those were my days when the Altereds & the Gassers were king.

The big boys only came to Fremont maybe once a year or so.

But we had The Altereds, The gassers & The Super Stocks & we lined up to get in to see them!.

The smile is still on my face ! That was one bad-ass screaming small block to lay down those numbers ! You must be very proud of your Dad and for all he has accomplished over the years of his drag racing . That gasser was perfect in so many ways ! Did the name of the car really come from the cartoon ? What ever happened to the race car ? If he doesn't have it anymore , has anyone in your family tried to track the gasser down to see if it's still around ? It would be nice to find it again and restore it ! You can tell your Dad that film made my day !

Kickass video. Those are some crazy wheelie bars. I was hoping too that the car would be resurected in the 2010 footage. Still way cool though.. Nice tribute!
