    Kiwi Kev, and others.

I think you might find that some of those "early" kidney bean style wheels (especally those with very small holes - as well as the solid ones - as shown on the first page of this thread) are likely Romeo Palimedes wheels instead of Halibrands. His stuff pre-dated Halibrand and didn't use a "lip". I bet Dave Mann could I.D. them for sure.

    Dave M.
I've never known anyone to have removed the "lips" from Halibrand wheels when having them polished. It probably happened - maybe for a show car or something - but I would think it was a VERY rare occurance. What would be the point?

I have seen the lips removed from original kidney beans before, the point is personal preference.

Can someone rate/chart rims as ...............extra cool to not so cool?
Scale from 100 to 0........Zero being white wagon wheels................
Wouldn't this be a cool must have book..................
Historical .......Who Made Them.....Identification..........weed out the fakes...
    Rarity.....
    Expected Value. by condition......
    How to Identify......

These below had the centers welded in from other rims.....Widow Makers....with 16.0 Blue Streak Slicks....were on an old dragster in central illinois......used them as rollers on a Thames chassis for a while......dang things still hold air......owner will typically not sell anything that makes good shop talk........if you know what I mean.

Wow! I've never even seen the Radar 3 spokes before. Gotta love those polished Magnesium Halibrands. Pain in the ass to keep the high luster but few look better imo. Thanks for posting

Let me ask you this Kev, is Inglewood out of business? Those tires are the best i've seen and are my favorite. Would love to have a set on something.
