I am trying to I.D. the correct 1939 swan neck shift lever and what one has been bent. The one on the left I got at a swapmeet and the one one the right I got with a 40' P/U tranny that had been sitting for 15 years with a 1/2 of grease on it. The production numbers put the case about mid year 1940. However the lever may have been switched. I have compared against Van- Pelts pictures but can not tell. who ever bent one did a great job. disregard the knobs please. I put the 39' one on.

  2. I'd say the one on the right has not been bent.

  4. I just went out and looked at my 39 with original trans. and shifter. Mine looks more like the one on the left.

Id say the one on the left is stock and the one on the right is stock for the pickup……pickup seat is closer to the dash than the car

You have both, and it'll take like 30 seconds to swap...actual issue for you, assuming destination is the Model A, is which fits better. Space is probably going to be tight at dash and perhaps against seat...find out what actually fits in there!
