So lets see your custom headlight treatment, frenching, sinking, grafting, modifying and so on! I know we have traveled this road already but.... After a couple hours searching this topic I must ask, why so much bashing. A decent topic gets posted and then theres ten pages of opinions and bashing? Lets try here to preserve a technical approach to helping the noobs as well as the vetrans. I'm currently thinking about using some 1956 ford rings on my 49 shoebox, has anyone already done this? Are these rings pot metal or even usable? I like the peaks and would love to see something similar at least? thanks for all your help and if you must post about the famous hagens please be respectable.

For the Headlights of The Pearl Necklace, we filled 1/2 inch EMT pipe with sand, welded both ends shut, then made a wooden template of the contour of the fender cut that out, clamped it to a table, heated the EMT pipe, bent it around the wood. Then cut the ends, emptyed the sand, then cut the bent pipe in half. Then welded that to the car. gives a nice rounded smooth look nicer then just moldeing the stock bezels in wich are flat/ alota work for sumthing 98% of people never notice.

These pics are just awesome, please keep them coming. so the olds treatment is awesome, this is pretty much what I was thinkin in my head. Does anyone know about the metal quality of the 56 ford bezels? Some would say use whatever but I like to do things once and dont want something cracking down the road...I've been told to glass in the potmetal rings but I've never seen glass and metal work well together...

I frenched the stock rims and took an aftermarket headlight and broke the glass out of it, then I took a Lucas Lens that has the chrome tit in the middle and siliconed that to the aftermarket bucket with a non faceted reflector and now have the look of "Lucas Flamethrowers" with H4 lights.

I believe I saw this car at Gene's show in Mojave a couple weeks ago, very cool. I did a double take when I saw it in the parking lot by our hotel. Oldsmobile really had something going on
