I got a call From my good friend Ron Yeager Owner of Ron's Rods In Kingsville MD, to come work on Frank Morawski's Track T, This car needed a belly Pan Hood and Hood sides before it goes to Pebble Beach. Great opportunity to work with Ron and frank on such a cool project. It ran 180 In 1952 on the flats.

  7. Hi Jay. I know Ron Yeager and Frank Morowski. I remember when Franks car was at Ron's. I stop in his shop from time to time just to see what's going on. Ron speaks very highly of you and your talent. I can see why. Good luck at Rad Rides. -- Andy

Welcome BACK! Good to see. That 26/27 you did inspired me to pick one up a while back. It's been sitting on the back burner waiting for the current project to be completed.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

did you do that cowl top in one piece? is it a one sided reverse like a 27?

im building a cowl now and decided on going with 6 total pieces for the cowl-

nice work- can't wait to see where this goes

The rest of the pics are just repeats of the same method used before.

Are those rear spring hanger brackets fitted the correct way, seems to me they maybe installed upside down?

Nice sheet metal skills!!! While we're picking apart things unrelated to the sheetmetal itself, how come there's no tile on that shop floor? ;)

    nice!!

so, i understand you stretched in a V working into the panel. did you work the panel from the dash to firewall or from side to side?

here is what i think you said you did

Which is pretty interesting b/c i talked to ron covell, lazze and clay cook about this part before starting it and they all said to do it like the picture below. which is what im doing. start @ 1 and work your way out, then to 2 and so on. some say to work the panel flat and then add the shape then some say to add the shape and then the form. either way its a pain to wheel with a lot of shape in the corners so i opted to do it is 6 pieces instead of 2 or 1. it took me about 3-4 hrs to make the top and then 2 for the sides. does your top have a reverse throughout the whole thing or just the corners?

thanks for the input i love to learn new methods- also check out fay butler's pullmax book on his edge beading dies- it similar to yours but this can be modified for a wire edge, double beads, etc

turn the flange and then use that as the guide- these fit in the universal die holder perfect

pretty interesting approach on not wheeling up the entire sheet- the 27 cowl im doing is more a 1 sided reverse and is flat by the firewall so i started all on the one side and worked my way back. have to try doing it your way to see if its any faster

this is what the profile looks like

did you add the shape around the corners before or after you started working on the reverse? this intrigues me b/c to be able to make the panel with no welds would be a huge time saver
