Here's a "mate" I just picked up at Waterdown. This insert is nickel-plated brass.

Here is mine, but I've also seen them on the boats in the Deadliest Catch programs.

That insert likely had black wrinkle paint finish on it. Someone must have removed the paint to reveal the plain nickle plate.

    Same thing in mine.
Some of the gauges are still curved glass.

Here is my pinstriped "Ensign" panel in my hacked up dash (Gotta get the feel for these things!) And two more pics once it was cleaned up. I like the engine turned versions but this is the first I have seen with this insert.

I picked these two up at the local swap meet yesterday. I think the one on the bottom is early Chevy (34'-35) and the other I'm not quite sure. The gauges are pretty neat and the engine turned piece is cracked in a few spots, but nice just the same. Any ideas on what it might be? I looked for info on the back and front, but found nothing. The gauges are ac sparkplug co. I'll be looking for a water temp one of the same year. The guy I bought it from said it came from a stationary motor. The other pic is of a Sun tach that I found at a yard sale. Just curious if anyone knows approximate year(62'?) Thanks for your help.

The "Hollywood" was original equipment in Muntz Jets from 1950-'54.

Here it is, the mythical 10 hole. The first time I have ever seen one. I had only heard stories and never believed it existed.

I bought the 1st one from a boat shop thats been around since the 40's. I believe it is from 1937. The amp gauge is newer. Note the low RPM backward tach. Got the ensign from the same shop. Number 3 is from a 1925 Studebaker President with Stewart gauges. The newer SW gauges fit the panel (as shown). Number 4 is from an essex. The gauge is actually round but the panel only displays the rectangle shape.

    Great thread!!

He wants $650 in the Craigslist ad! That is ridiculous, it's worth maybe half that!

I can't wait until my car is done and I can become a full blown gauge hoarder!!! I love the endless combinations, eras, and moods these different panels allow.
