And people wonder why everything ends up being made in China and everyone loses their job.

Cheap is not always the way to go. There are places that sell rebuild kits as well if you have access to a press and the housings are OK. Try the folks at Ford Barn.

Buying the most expensive pump does not garantee its the best. I bought a pair of 59AB pumps from Flathead Jack, they failed(siezed up) at 6000 miles. When I had them rebuilt, the machinist said the bushings were made of plain brass, and not Oilite bronze, like original. I don't trust anything Speedway sells,no matter the cost.

  11. This is definitely true....So what are the best?

What he said, and replace them both when you've got the engine up in the air.

Cheap is not the answer to Flatty's water pumps. I have a set of speedways new pumps on my flatty going on 5 years and no problems at all.bearings over bushings any day is the way to go.

I heard Napa is now carrying the newly designed bearing waterpumps. Really reasonable. Regardless of where you choose dont buy the old style pumps.
