Well, it's been about 6 months since I took the car over to the persons house who did the majority of the work. I am lucky that I got to go ever about 2 nights a week and work it with him and learn lots in the process.

Here are some pics, I have tons but figured I'd post a few. The car is converted to '40 brakes, 12-volt, new wood kit, new top, reversed eyes on the front spring and 3 leaves removed. '40 wheels. Probably a bunch of stuff I am not thinking of right now as well.

Motor was detailed but that's about it. It runs ok, but just ok. Definately will need a rebuild, find a banger or convert to a flathead. Have not decided yet.

I am just driving around here and having fun.

Here are some pics: (first two are where I found it in the womans garage).

    couple more...

This is the car back in my front yard... compete for now! Until phase two which will be the motor choice I have yet to make. I have seen some nice banger motors for sale on this board, but have to save a few more bucks to get there.

Those wheels have made a huge difference in the look, I like it. I'm glad to see you didn't go overboard with the rest of the car. I am sure it's a joy to drive too.

WOW! You did exactly as I would have with that car. That's gotta be the best looking 32 Fordor I have seen. I love it. Looking forward to seeing it with bumpers on. Makes me wanna go work on mine...

Yes, 6.00/7.00. The front wheels are 4" wide and the rears are 5" wide.

My bumpers are really bad looking so I have a set I am supposed to buy off a friend. He wants to get his new ones first though.

I counted 9 leaves in your front spring and you say you took out 3? How many leaves does a stock spring have? I thought they only had 10 originally.

And what size tires are you running front and back?...ok I type slow...nevermind.

Is the brake pedal stuff from the Early V8 Shop?
    Car is looking good!
Try to get original bumpers...the repros are extremely thin and are only decorative. You want something capable of keeping shopping carts and Hondas out of your grill.

Yes, the brake pedal stuff is from the Early V-8 shop. It's a great kit and fit really nice.

His bumpers are repros, but are probably 30 years old. Still in nice shape to match the look of my car. Were the earlier repros any thicker?

It's a nice car and all, but I think you should really butcher it........drop the headlight bar.

I thought about a dropped headlight bar. Then we polished the center and had the ends painted black when the front fenders got sprayed... looked so good I had to leave it.

  17. Gorgeous early Ford!

Makes you wonder why anyone would cut one up really.

Yeah, I like it just the way it is. The only reason I painted the fenders is because they were in primer. The rest of the car was left as is.

Looks great! Reminds me a lot of the stocker we converted last year. Dropped Axle, Juice Brakes, '32 Rearend.

Thanks, it was the 'shiny' ones I was interested in. I am tidying up my B-powered '32 pickup, and it doesn't have the lower water pipe from the rad to the LH side of the block. I have a '30-'31 one from Mac's and that doesn't have the correct-angled bend on it, although the Ford Chassis Parts book (green bible) seems to suggest that they supplied one pipe for '28-'34 bangers. I take it you restored the original one?

  30. nice car and nice work-looks great!!
