Is the 216 intake interchangeable with the 235 out of a 56 Chevy sedan.
Need to find out soon and this place is full of the people that know.

    Thanks in advance.

The alignment rings on a 235 intake are larger than the 216, and it won't bolt up to the stock 216 exhaust manifold.

  3. Thinking about junking one of each manifold if you need a stocker.

They make adapter rings to fit the smaller intake on the larger engine. I imagine they could be used to fit a larger intake on the smaller engine as well.

I have a 56 235 in my 56 2 door wagon, I want to go to a dual carb set up and can only find (in my price range) intakes for the 216 and earlier 235. I guess I should have been more specific in my original question. I know I can get the adaptor rings but my main concern is where the intake bolts to the exhaust manifold. Car has new exhaust so I dont really want to go to the split headers.

216 intakes don't mate with original 235 exhaust and visa versa.
I would go with a dual exhaust first, before adding more carburetion.
With the available repro Fenton headers you can keep the original angled exhaust and add a second pipe.
216 dual intake and carbs works better on a street driven 235.

Fenton headers are designed to keep the original exhaust. All you have to do is add the second
