That's sweet. Makes me want to just push mine down to the curb

  7. The trans adaptor was home machined and i used a 57 polyshere dodge truck bell housing. I just finished a machinist apprentiship so i naturally had to make every! part for it. It was a learning experience. Thanks for looking and please rate my post. Thanks!

    Very impressive, Hackman!
On a personal note, thank you for not making the ride height totally effin impractical for daily use. That looks like a nice, driveable, usable hot rod.
Great effort! (Great engine and tranny choice as well) Hurst Super Shifter 2 would make that thing dangerous!

    Great job!
Don't think you'll have any problem spinning those skinny tires when you drop the clutch.
Some build pics would be nice.

  13. Hey, that's a damn fine looking hot rod you built.

  14. Hey thanks a bunch fellas. I have some T sheet metal and parts if your lookin. I will post the build pics as soon as i get them all rounded up. The car actually sits on leaf springs with a snubber and spring clamps in back( hows that for old school mopar drag race stuff haha) and a 40 front end with split bones. It rides better than i thought it would! so thats a welcome surprise. And yes it will FRY the skinnys at will. Thanks for lookin. Hack

Leafs and a snubber? Man, you are a Mopar guy! That is a great suspension system done properly. I'm even more impressed now!

If this is your first build, you've got something to be very proud of. Thinking back to my first one, yours puts it to shame. 'Course I was 12-13 when I started and it would be over 15 years before my hands touched the handles of a Bridgeport or lathe. Keep at it..........you'll only get better and we'll probably be reading about some of your future builds in the magazines or over the internet.

Nice job, you nailed it. IMHO T coupes are not easy to do right. If this is your first build can't wait to see what comes next.

do you have any build pics?

  27. Wow thanks for the replies fellas. It is my first hot rod build but i have built some stuff in the past. I got into hot rods through drag racing and my dad. My first race car was a 23t altered with a chevy that ran 8's in the quarter. I also built a mild custom 52 chevy sedan that a drove to high school. I will post my build pics soon.
    Thanks again
