I have seen some guys use the leather off of a nice worn in leather couch, just a thought

What about that plaid material like the stuff in cadillacs

I used to have mohair. Now I wear a hat.

  5. Man oh man... I was all set to get started on a new distressed leather bench seat for my '34 truck... Seems that everyone is going that way. Since you all are suggesting dead cows, maybe I'll buck the trend, bolt down the hooves, and have a live cow for a seat. Between my weight and my speed, I'm sure she would still be 'distressed'...

Make sure the distressed leather is made for automotive use. A friend had a high dollar deuce that had furniture grade distressed leather and after getting caught in the rain a couple of times the dye apparently broke down and he ruined some clothes.
