I'm building a '40 coupe too. Although It needs some serious firewall / cowl help. What model is yours? 2627B? Mine will have a 9.3 pont rear, and either a 347 or 389 with an X-2.

Nice project you got there, I am looking forward to the progress pictures. You probably have a vision as to what you want, but if it were mine:389, tri-power, 4 speed, safe-t-trac rear...

its a 2527, if the right deal comes along we'll run a pontiac, but we already have a FE with a trans ready to go. Front half of car is really solid its the back half and floor that needs the most work more pics later today or tomorrow

After looking more closely, I don't think mine has exposed trunk hinges. So I should have known yours was not a 2627. In that case I'm not sure if I can help much but if you need any pictures of the floor or areas of the back half, let me know. Mine is fairly solid and original from behind the firewall back.

well the back-half was so far gone even with everything i replaced so decided that its gonna be a full fendered ute taildragger. Choppin the top 2", found some 58 chrysler outside door handles im gonna use. Still going on the s10 chassis as the original frame was to far gone to save.
