It was said to be a Vega with a corvette front and '59 Caddy fins.

Wow! A lot of cool cars. I saw the "Little Honker" at the HAMB Drags. Very era correct dragster.

I like the looks of this, has the bottom of the firewall mount been chopped to get that 3/4 inch channel? [IMG]

Great show. Anybody get a pic of the vintage airplane that buzzed the strip? Was that a planned event? He couldn't have been more than 30ft.
from the tower. Sure added to the fun of the day!

    Little Honker. Awesome...

There were 2 or 3 of these little Anglias running this year. This burnout pic is about as out of shape as I saw any of them all day. All of them launched and went down the track straight as an arrow.

Twin hemi rail. This thing made an unholy racket going down the track.

I think this Rambler was running in the low 12s all day...

This vette ran incredibly hard on small inch injected chevy power. IIRC, low 10s on a 283.

This poncho was super cool, but didn't seem to be running quite right yet. I think it might have been it's first outing?

    Indeed.

    More pics here...

It was one of a few bracket cars that somehow were allowed to run. There was a white plastic Batam bracket car that also ran that was about as traditional as my wife's Subaru wagon. Other than a few of these though the cars were excellent. If you pull up to a stoplight beside a ratty looking 49 Buick super fastback with Jersey plates beware! He ran 7.80 at over 90 in the 1/8 through a whisper quiet exhaust with narrow street rubber. Talk about the ultimate sleeper.

It was a great time. I knew I didn't have to take pictures because the hambers always have that covered, thanks guys!! I really like that blue model A with the caddy motor and batwing intake. That little car ran pretty damn good too!! The blue 56 gasser was pretty damn cool as well! Perfect weather. I went with my old boss in his edsel wagon and brought a few "hot rod virgin" friends who really enjoyed themselves. The day before they said they didn't want to spend all day there, only a few hours. Well we had to leave because the driver of the edsel had previous engagements, and they wanted to stay. Feels good to bring more people into the hobby.

NITROFC, Boneyard, AWESOME PICS, thanks. It was a great event. I didn't get to meet 1/2 the people I wanted too but still had a blast. Larry & Beaver Bob, thanks again for hospitality and the great event, we'll be back again next year. Probably even have a second ECG race on Sunday too. I'll be adding pics to this thread that my son took in a little while. Gotta take care of a few things around the house first.
