Looking for a straight 1/8 pipe to a 3/8-24 inverted flare fitting to plumb my front brake lines. Can't seem to find these in steel or stainless steel. Don't really want to run brass ones if I can help it. Anyone with any sources for these? I've come up empty on a google search. Thanks in advance, Dennis D

  2. Any idea where, besides your current application, these would be used?

  4. Earls has them in steel. Sorry, can't help with a P/N, but we had them at a shop I used to work out of.

Charlie, no, not off hand. I have worked in the forklift industry for 34 years and can't remember seeing that fitting while working on hyd. systems.
Exwestracer, I will google Earls and see what I come up with. Thanks, Dennis

3/8" is the thread on the flare nut, not the size of the tube

  11. Oops, sorry, they were 37s. [IMG]I stuck them in the lathe and used a countersink to reverse the flare to 45 inverted... Hey, it was 1997...

This is typical, you can get almost everthing to make it super sano then you spend days looking just to have a buddy modify some fitting on his lathe to complete what should be a no brainer! Or you settle for almost cool.

I don't have time to check, but I usually order from Discount Hydraulics, in PA. They have a huge selection of fittings, incl. IFF. I always get brass, though.

  14. being a npt most will be brass...why not brass?

Just prefer the look of the steel fittings I guess. Didn't really think they would be this hard to locate. Dennis

Check with inline tube. I believe their website is inlinetube.com If you dont see what you need call them. They stock allot of these type fittings in all meterials. I have used them allot and always had what I needed and good service.

I was going to call them about making up my brake hoses so I will check with them. Thanks for all the input. Sometimes I think I should have manufactured things. Seems like half the stuff I think I want for the car, no one makes! :D Dennis
