    "348 or 409 Big-Block"

  2. I don't know if anyone's mentioned this one, but it's sure annoying. Some jerkoff will be trying to sell you a car, and tell you it's an "honest" car. What the fuck's an "honest" car you fucking meat head?

"Chivvy." / "(Shivvy)" insteady of "Chevy."

I guess it doesn't annoy me too much, I'm more or less just confused by it. I don't now if it's more of a Midwest thing, but I hear a lot of older guys pronounce it that way.

"Rust Free" Should read "Free Rust"

I went to look at a car that was advertised as rust free one time and I don't think there was a salvageable panel on the car. I said something about the rust being more than anyone would want to tackle and the guy said, "Well I think I described it pretty accurately. Don't you have a wire welder?" I just got in my car and left.

or they say "MUST SEE TO APPRECIATE" then they do not include a pic.
and calling a flex plate a flywheel.
and them damn kids and there "NOS"(said as a word).
and "its one of a kind"...hmmm is that why there are at least 10 more just like for sale here too?
and"normal wear and tear"...normal for who?? the blue haired lady that wont get close to the speed limit or the kid down the street doing the John Force burnouts?
and as mentioned many time, the barn find...there are a lot of barns around here and there isn't a damn thing in them.

NOS as a spoken word. It is called Nitrous Oxide.
    Breaks instead of brakes.
Then of course the for sale section:

"a real jewel" means that they found it in the dirt.
"one of a kind" means the only one that they have to sell.
"very fast" means that someone drove it really fast.
"clean" means someone washed it recently.

Re-read my post. This is how Chevrolet refered to them. They did not use terms like "small block" or "big block" in 1970. BTW, the first 400 small block w/4 barrel was 1974. The 1970 400 SB was a 2 barrel.

When people call a dual feed vac sec Holley a "double pumper". If they post a pic in an ad you can at least move on without contacting the idiot.

  18. I use to like Ol Skool and Rat Rod, but now??? Maybe I will stop using both, something else will come along soon:confused:.

"A true CLASSIC" used to describe a 1960's or 70's Ford,Chevy or MoPar. Thats the one I love the most :(, usually found in the local newspaper classifieds.

Lately, I've seen the term CLASSIC being applied to quite a bit of stuff from the late 70's and early 80's.

I am sorry if you disagree, but there is NOTHING classic about anything made then, nor will there ever be.

In the early to mid 60's, if the announcer on the PA system at the drags would have said
...Bring out all the "Willies"...there would have been a roar of laughter and a bunch
    of zippers going down !!
Ha-Ha...a different time and a different place,in a galaxy far far away!

  21. Hell, look right here in the HAMB classifieds from time to time. Oh too many advertise "Gasser" and there is NOTHING Gasser about the car they're selling....NOTHING. I asked one guy once, WHY he states Gasser in his ad. He says, well it could be a Gasser if you did this, that, and the other....to it.

I really enjoy the ads that only give you the year, make and model (no details or pictures) and the fact that the sellers "Must Sell ASAP". Really? Because I would swear from the lack of information your ad contains you were hoping to run that ad for months with no calls!<O:p</O:p
    <O:p</O:p

Same goes for the a-holes that list their cars and state they don't want or need to sell and are just trolling for offers! No thanks - I bet my desire to not buy your junk is stronger than yours to not sell!

Just read the '32 5Window auction on eBay==== THIN METAL==== add that to the list along with FROM CALIFORNIA.

  30. What about all those "Wanted" clowns that are looking for something really rare for next to nothing that has to be close by - like their next door neighbor is selling one.
