    Now thats funny.

  9. I just picked up this 71 Econoline out of Sacramento. I have not seen it yet but am already very happy with it and think it has a good look. I was trying to find a mid Dodge but just could not pass on the Econo as the price was very right and it already looks cool without me doing any work. I think it's already earned the name "Old Ironsides" for several reasons.

I almost bought this a few years back in Easton Pa after the owner died. Too much $$ for me for a box of parts and a neat shell. I have heard several stories about it. One was that it came from Ca and Gene Winfield choped the top.
I saw it about 2 years back in Englishtown at the swap meet.
It would have been a neat addation to my "A" collection.

dam dont tell me they are back! I am too old to go back! It just wont be the same.

  14. I'm not sure I want an impotent van. That's counter productive to what a van is used for!

  20. Not all of us are that old yet.
Sorry you missed out on all the fun  :D

  21. If you remember the fun you weren't there.

Now to chime in and add my personal opinion (would that be MPO) I think that what most people remember of "60s" vans were actually '70s vans. The trend for custom vans really hit hardest in the '70s. '60s vans were more of a hippy lookin thing, pretty rattled out, usually painted with a broom.

Either way as Aldous Huxley put it " A g(r)am is better than a damn."

All I could think when I read the title of this thread was " Good Lord I hope NOT. Please don't let it be true"

Hopefully most of them have been crushed for new toasters or are serving as permanent storage sheds or homeless shelters :D
