Hello from England

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by Bodge Deep, Sep 22, 2010.

  1. Hi chaps
Having lusted after American cars since i was a kid I've finally got my sweaty mitts on a '53 4 Door Bel Air. I'm really very pleased with it and looking forward (once I've got it on the road) to cruising in something with a bit more style than the tin euroboxes we have over here!
I'm after some parts and will no doubt be asking some daft 'noob' questions so bear with me :D

    Cheers
    Rupert

  7. Welcome Rupert from Ontario, Canada. Are you required to convert the Chev to right hand drive or was it built for export?

Welcome to the H.A.M.B from Georgia!

  12. Thanks for the welcome chaps
Nice to see some members from over here too!
The car is LHD and can stay thay way there's no requirement to change it... fortunately!!!
I will be on the hunt for a few trinkety bits for the car, but fortunately it's remarkably complete. At the moment a badly worn steering box is all thats between it and the open road. Hoping to find someone on here that knows of such a thing or replacement roller and worm screw?

I just swapped a steering box for a rack on the 54 as part of the IFS conversion for the new owner, i still have the old box but the column has been chopped off. not sure if the gears are removeable...
