Just got me a 1947 Dodge 2 door 5 window coupe. I have read how s-10 2 wheel drive frames could be a option. Would like to keep drivetrain all mopar, what dakota frame options would work? I know my wheelbase is 119 inches. My front end on the 47 is worn, some spots on frame are rusted out. I have on the hook a 88 s-10 long box 2 wheel drive cheap, anyone that has done swap would like to hear from them. Thanks!!

  2. The '47 Dodge needs very, very little to drive safely at speed in modern traffic. There are at least two disc brake conversions on the market, plus there are several rear axle assemblies that will go where the stock one goes; namely Ford Ranger and early Dodge Dakota (5-lug). If the frame damage can be repaired safely, go that route.

Stay away from the Dakota frame. I agree, way to easy to make yours safe.
