My 20T will have a tonneau/tarp on it. Nothing fancy. I think I like the snaps that have the pin that's pushed through best but I'm undecided. Also, I am not sure on a material either.

Skipper, I have thought the same thing. I am going to build my '32 coupe close to that since I don't have a roadster. I love everything about it. THe early drag cars were sooo cool. You should build it then I'll build the coupe version and we can race!

  7. I started building the Confusion roadster and my son Steve took over and got it running but never finished. A hood and tonneau would really make the car...

I am nearing this point on my tub, and have been wondering about hardware and placement. What are "lift a dot" snaps? I am only going to cover the back seat.

Another question, what about running the top and the tonneau at the same time? The back of the top would have to go over top of the tonneau cover...how does that work?

Damn, now the H.A.M.B. is down to operating on telepathy! A tonneau is in the very near future for the T-Bucket, and I've needed ideas - here they are!

'Nother thought real quick, I am going to do the interior for this car in white Marine Vinyl. I'd like to run a canvas for the tarps of it, but what about using the same marine vinyl for them? I read earlier in the thread that some thought they would be hard to keep clean with the grain and all,. but this is a very tight grain. Anybody have any experience with this?

Been all the way though it and found no mention of the questions I asked.

  25. .

I've had white interiors in cars and boats and it can be tough to keep clean, but I still feel it is worth it. It looks killer!

My favorite way to clean white vinyl interiors is by using white Goop hand cleaner (the non-abrasive kind). Do not use any water. Just grab a small wad of Goop and scrub it in using your finger nails. If you have a bad spot use a soft bristle brush. The next part is important - to remove the cleaner, wipe it off with a micro-fiber cloth. The micro-fiber gets down into the grain and really makes a difference over a standard rag.

You should be able to do a whole tonneau cover in about 15 minutes using this method.

I say go for it Need Louvers.

You can use "ever flex" for tonneau , I wouldn't use an upholstery vinyl for it though, to much stretch it'll sag easily in heat or wet weather. Most mohairs or twilfast come in a fawn colour, ever flex comes in a huge range of colours including white

    Here's mine

Straight forward off centre split, was tempted to put a hole around wheel and driver but it was a quick job for pendine

Cool KFC, That is one thing I was worried about.

117Harv, I think your right. I noticed the first couple of pages were discussion so I kinda went that way.

I'm looking at snaps now. I think they come in two sizes 3/8 and 5/8". Seems like the ones in the pics look like 5/8" is predominant. Spacing looks like about 6" o.c. for them. Mine will be a '36 Ford roadster. I'm a bit OT because I may put a tonneau on it later, but first I'm trying to put the snaps on for the top. Do others recommend putting the through turn top snaps at the ends with snaps OK in between? Thanks in advance for suggestions.
