A friend of mine just got a hold of an entire yard out in the Southern California desert Not everything is "Hamb Friendly" as it's mostly trucks but I thought I'd share the pics. P.S. I'm going to customize the hell out of that kaiser someday.
OH man there is some cool stuff, that truck second from the bottom in your first set.... I think its a White?? I dunno but they are the best looking trucks! Doc.
Yeah, That's a white.. A 41 Linesman and that would make a cool half ton for sure. I'm trying to get him to give me the headlights that are on the Autocar
Looks like a great score! What are your buddy's plans for the yard? If he's looking to sell some of those beasts, I might be interested in looking at some of the Dodge's if the price is right.
Is that Ford van a dually? Looks like at least a 1 ton if not more. Looks like the frame is sticking far out back too for some reason. Not sure what is up with all the side openings, but redone without and that truck would be killer.
A very cool truck. Check out the deal on the roof. It looks like what is on my neighbors 41 ford pickup that was used during the war on air strips. If it's the same thing, it's a periscope deal to look for incoming aircraft that might be behind you. I'd be interested in that US6 Stude cab if the guy is selling anything...
Theres been a few on Craigslist one is in Auburn and there is another down around Oly if I remember. One was a short tow truck.
He want's to get rid of most of these trucks pictured so yeah, the white and the Studebaker are for sale...Most of the military stuff is staying with him, His business is restoring them and renting them to the movies, so they will get done, The 39 Ford is an Ambulance, It's one of five built for the Army ambulance trials. If you're serious about one send me a PM.
It's a 1.5 Ton and given it's history I think it would be coolest to just restore it. But then again that would kinda defeat the purpose of the hamb.
More, more!! I love these old big trucks. This one has custom rollback written all over it. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/ironfly28/1940Autocar.jpg
Hey ironfly28, were these shots taken in Cherry Valley by chance? I'm pretty sure that is my uncles backyard...
Not far. I took these shots in April...Some of these belong to my Uncle and the others are stored for friends...
Yup, that's the same place...........A couple of those I didn't see so maybe the friends got them. My friend bought these from a 501 c (3) who's executive did not have the authorization to purchase So they had to get their money back. do me a favor?.......call your uncle. I'd hate to learn that this was shady
