You're about 4 days too late. He traded the coupe for the gasser.

Now we are waiting impatiently for him to post some more pictures & post them up so we can have some Willy's porn. :)

Thanks again to all of you who have posted on this thread, I cannot thank you enough. Well the original owner Sonny Mauro, builder, driver made the trip down with his son Jeff to view his old car. They brought photos, trophies, and lots of information for me to use in the restoration of this old race car. It was a lot of fun to see Sonny's face when he saw the car. I think they expected the car not to be the one they had owned. Anyway, great people great hobby! Thanks guys!

Stoked you went the willys and that you have the connection with the previous owners. How about its own build thread linked to here. Well done!

Get the willys, look at the price of 35,100 for a good all steel roller project on ebay today. Roller meaning no paint , upholstery ,seat, glass, wiring motor trans " ETC" You would be ahead of the game in the money department , if it even matters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A willys and a speed shop go together like ham and eggs. I would have done it in a new york minute. and I don't even like new york...
