Not an early build, but certainly an early style. Not a T bucket but a track roadster or a turtledeck T, in my view:

My friend's rather crude steel T, Oldsmobile powered.
He and I drove it from Los Angeles to St. Louis to visit his uncle in June of 1967. I was 16, he was 21.
Certainly no show car, but it got us there.

Originally built in 1971 and changed around a bit throughout the years. Plans are to redo it later this year in competition orange, ditch the aluminum tank for a bed (thinking somewhere around 28" with a hidden fuel cell) black interior, chrome rims with baby moons or American five spokes, paint the headers white, trade the M/T valve covers for some finned aluminum type and swap the HEI distributor for a stocker with a Pertronics conversion for a little more of a 60's vibe.

Too cool! And a wife that likes hot rodding enough to go for a ride in her wedding dress!

My wife and I wanted to have our announcement pictures done with her pushing our '41 Ford in her dress, and me steering in a tux. She's a hot rodder too and always helped me push start the '41 when the bendix took a dump, LOL.

  15. My buddy built this one several yrs ago, one of my alltime favorite T's

I'm toying with the idea of building one some day, but, at 6'1", is there a way to sit IN a T, rather than ON one?
They always look good when they're sitting there, but then when someone gets behind the wheel, they look about two sizes too small.

Several companies make stretched bodies. Take some time to lay out the interior and pedal/steering wheel location and you can come up with a fairly comfortable interior.

    Here's a good site:

I was downloading the picture of Glen Meyer's orange A roadster form the '65 Oakland roadster show (Rodders Journal #39) when I noticed the Wild T bucket in the background. It is Carl Casper's "Caspers Ghost" and won AMBR that year.

By the way if anybody knows where Glen's orange A roadster is now I'd like to know.

    Model T at Bonneville 2010.JPG

Saw this at Bonneville, this year. This is the type of car I'd love to drive on the salt.

I've resisted posting up my T project. I'll post it up when it's complete.

    This is a great thread.
