I’m not sure what to do with my 47 Olds

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Orn, Jul 19, 2010.

  1. Drop it and chop it. Not a mega chop just a mild shave and a haircut. IE nosed decked and shave handles. Choped about 2-3" just enough to give it some style and loose the dome.

I would not make a belly dragger out of it. But definately hide the top half of the tire.

I like the first color better than the color in the second set of pics. Snd yes that thing is a tank unless you got a helluva lot of engine I would not go gasser with it.

To me customs should be low, ride nice, and be comfortable. Good for long trips. Not a good gasser candidate.

    +1

As you drive it, it will tell you what it needs.

What Rikster said. But first, line up that stainless on the fender and door! Cool car.

INKed, I have seen your sweet Olds before here on Hamb and it’s a real beauty.

I would say a chop is definitely in order. Lower and skirt it.

Not to hi-jack, but someone mentioned filling the quarter windows. Was this a common practice for the 46-48 GM's? I noticed several pics in Rik's library were like that, and I wondered if it was a business coupe or the like.
