lol...did you ever try the car fax or going down to dmv and running the numbers ...

ya know if you can hook up with a repo company they can run the vin number for you and it will show you the last known registrant and give all there info on the cars locations ...i know this cause i have friends that have done this before ..

hey Dan, Gary Davis is my uncle. Gary didn't have a 350 in it he ran a 454 then stripped it down redid the floor tried to put the motor in front but just wasn't the same so he put it back to mid engine then sold it to the guy out of granite city... sorry been so long to repost... Gary lost info for this site and we just found it again tonight can reply back on here maybe ill try to get him to get the guys name out of granite city unless its already on here haven't looked on here to much

is it possible to find the vin from the original california tags?

 

Not trying to steal the thread but back in '66 or '67 we (Mike, Abe & i) put together a '58 anglia with a corvette sbc and 4 speed. The carbs split the windshield, one inside and the other in front of it. Abe was small enough to drive from up front, kinda beside the engine and Mike & I rode in the backseat - no passenger seat. We weren't smart enough to make any sheetmetal to cover the engine and it was a hateful thing to ride around in. This was in Portland Maine, we'd race down at the dockyards. We'd absolutely kill the Hertz GT350H twice every weekend, as long as it was a different guy renting it that night.
It didn't last long but is sure was fun. Absolutely hateful cruising light to light, fumes were beyond belief. Just my experience with a 'mid-engine' cruiser.

 

All I have is the number of the plates that I had. ( 500DTH ) California.
I haven't been able to trace them.

 

WOW Back in ,89 i had a 2dr post 57. I bought the car craft magazine, july 1989 issue just because it had two pics of dan glovers 57 in it. Nothing else in the magazine interested me. One pic is someone ( probley Dan ) standing under the hood putting fuel in. Very cool car Dan. Now i have two kids and a 4 dr wagon go figure. Still have the magazine too
