I can already see that engine in a '49-'51 coupe. No, sedan. NO, COUPE! Not lowered, mild dechroming, rolling on widened 15" steels with baby moons with no trim rings.

Like a Korean War era musclecar. Hunting Hondas.

REALLY FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!

I along with hundereds of people have been waiting a v......e......r......y long time to hear this. You mentioned he was coming to California with the car/motor............if so, when and where, I'd like to see it and talk about it.

As for the guys that say the price is HIGH..............anyone who has built a flat motor to make 250HP or more.......................how much did you spend? The $12k for a long block looks to certainly be in the ball park.

Great Job!!!!!!!

Will it accept any heads/manifolds from "real" flatheads? I've got a 4x2 Weiand that would look sooooo good on one!

Very impressive looking flatty. When is production expected to be available to us old flatty nuts? I as well as every one else would be interested in the dyno results and any additional information you can give us at this time as to the internals.

It is going down to Roush Racing when they get back...and it's going on the Dyno....I'm trying to get all the info and spec's to the HAMB first to keep you guys informed...it will accept aftermarket intakes..it has a 3.5 in bore by a 4 and 4 3/8 in stroke....making it a 339 cu. inch....it has a SCAT crank....and an oil scraper built into the girdle designed oil pan...it has a screw on SBC oil filter or you can use a old school remote style.....Roller Lifters amd a roller cam custom cut buy ISKY....All new redesigned water pumps that are high volume...Mark said the Engine did not go over 180 degrees on the tri(even in hot weather idling....It mostly ran between 150 degrees and 180 degrees...it has a one piece timing cover that accepts SBC oil seals...and is avalible in spider and post type....rear seal is a SBC rear seal...I beam style connecting rods....and wensco pistons....
The ports in the new MCF block are a result of numerous flow tests. The problem of factory removable valve guide was resolved by resorting to a pressed in guide of a smaller diameter. This increases the cross sectional area of the port in a critical spot. The new port is d-shaped to further increase the cross sectional area and allow for a better shape leading to the short side radius. The valve size is increased to 1.7” diameter and it uses a smaller stem (7mm vs 11/32”). The smaller stem takes up less area in the port and eliminates some weight from the valvetrain. any more question just message me and I'll try to get you the answers...

It looks fantastic. How much weight does it save over the original?
Looking forward to full specs - I was searching for details a couple of weeks ago. Things seemed to have gone quiet. Glad to hear it is still moving.

You mention the range of heads it will take - Do you have a picture of the effect each has on performance?

Nay sayers??? Bad mouth?? What the hell is there not to like about an all aluminum Flatty? The numbers so far are good and the ideas are appearing to be working right on schedule and no doubt will be a demand item for several years to come. One of those in my Roadster would look absolutely awesome. Good luck on the final streach!
