I'm doing a southern road trip taking in Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, from sept 10 till 25th. What custom shows/junk yards/tiki bars can i visit or places of interest. I'm into 40's 50's Kustoms, Tiki, and any cool junk yard stuff. Any help or advice please. Paul
Check out this site :http://www.hubcapcafe.com/ They usually have the larger shows and cruise-ins listed.

forget ga. they only have one old car junkyard thats OLD CAR CITY,in white ga. they are only open on saturdays from 10:00-15:00.they have a lot of cars mostly 60s-70s and some earlier but very very high price wise.lots of snakes best time to go is in winter.they do have tours but they are 20 bucks and you have to get an appointment first.now leons in leon,va.south of culpeper,va.on rt 29 south is a great yard, mostly 50s-70s,some older.call first, you must be in the yard by 9 am or you cant get in.
Gadsden is a great cruise and is on the first Friday year round. We are going so if you or anyone else on here is there say hello. Here are pics of the Gadsden Cruise and I will be in the 72 Comet GT in the 5th pic until the 50 ford is done.
If you get anywhere near Griffin, GA (south of Atlanta), check out Johnson's Auto Salvage on County Line Road. They have lots of 40s/50s/60s cars of all makes, though most have been there a LONG time. Good people there, especially Jack at the counter.
Oh I just reread that. Shades is the 10-11 and the Auto Fest 23-25. Both are good shows but I prefer Shades. The Auto Fest has had a good swap meet in the past though.
