Ok so heres some pics from todays adventure. Took a load of scrap truck rearends down to Schnitzer Steel. Total trip was around 40 miles. Total weight of the truck was 9800 pounds, and i had 4000 pounds of steel on the back. A great day! Truck is a 1942 Dodge WF-32 2-1/2 ton. Original 236 flathead 6, 90 horsepower at 3600 rpm. 4 speed and single speed rearend. Got a few real funnly looks driving through tacoma!

Neato. That doesn't have the factory two pot intake, does it? I know the heavier Dodges had a 300 some odd inch flat 6 that had dual carbs.

Agreed. But i think all trucks should be used. I actually ponder the idea love an old Cab over truck. Just dig the styling.

So, how much did you get for the "scrap"? More than the gas to haul it?

I love that the old truck is still being used for it's intended purpose. I just got this '38 Chevy this weekend, I really want to make it functional again too. Glad I'm not the only one.

I was going to ask the same thing. What is scrap going for now anyway? I know copper is going through the roof again.

Back in the old days I use to work trucks like that, they'd get the job done slow but DONE!

  26. X2, but you probably got more in fun factor than anything else, right? That makes the trip even better... Nicely done!

For grade 1 unprepared, its $170 a ton. Walked out with about $300 bucks. Gonna take another load in tomorrow. Got alot of shit to clean up on the property.

Yea, i did the keg saddle tank a few years back. Works alright, but i have a 25 gallon tank that will replace it one of these days. It is, however, a pabst blue ribbon tank.

Truck gets about 9 miles to the gallon and rides much better with weight on it.

My uncle still has my grandfather's 3/4 ton Dodge of that style still on the farm, along with a 1/2 ton he had drug home for parts. I like those style of Dodges. I'm glad to see you using the old girl!
