I've been searching for a set a 2dr. doors for my 4 door but I havent been having much luck. My thinking is to pick up a set of front doors from a 4 door and just stretch them. So my ?ion is how much longer are doors from a 2dr to a 4dr? Or a couple of measurements would work.

post your needs in the classified "Wanted" section. Someone will get in touch with you. I needed a door skin for a 51 fleetline. Posted in the wanted section........e-mail in a couple of days....parts in hand in less than 2 weeks......

X2............the issues with trying to lengthen aren't worth the effort for something as relatively common as the doors you seek. You can use doors from any '49-'52 GM 'A' body (Pontiac, Olds 88, Chevy) 2 door.

I have a fleetline in my shed as well as a 2 door hardtop if you decide to stretch your doors I can get the lengths for you. The Pontiac doors usually have a good looking body molding with them.

  5. what is wrong with the doors you have?? i might have a set too

I posted in the want section and nothing, I've been searching CL and nothing. There is nothing wrong with my doors now. I just thought if I had a set to stretch I could do this and still drive the car. Thanks for the replys though

Keep searching there out there. I got both my doors for $100 and even bought a second set at that price for parts.

Place a wanted ad on CL... That may help a lot! Worked for me :)

2 door sedan measurements on the attached photo. This happens to be an Olds 88.

I agree with the rest, buy some doors.

The problem, a good reference point doesn't exist.

The doors look square and straight, but in reality there isn't a straight/plumb line on them.

Here's some measurements from my '51 Business Coupe (Somebody else might want to double check)...

All measurements are along the bottom edge of the tape line and from corners/edge indicated by the arrow using a cloth tape measure.

I used the beltline as a reference.

    Front Beltline-Rear Beltline: 42 1/2 "
    Front Beltline-Top Rear Corner: 44 5/8 "
    Rear Beltline-Top Rear Corner: 16 1/2"
    Rear Beltline-Bottom Front Corner: 54 "
