Nice photos Flip. Great for the memories.
I can now put a face to your name.

This is Mal Hewett's Vincent Racing Team all the way from Australia. They set a new record in the MPS/VG 1350cc class of 160.078MPH. I can say with confidence that this won't be broken anytime soon. These guys are also staying for BUB so there is a chance they could go faster....if he removes the seat and strips to his underwear and does his best impersonation of Rollie Free.

On Jeff's advice, we went through the Colorado National Monument on our way to Grand Junction, CO. I had never heard of the place, but it was an awesome drive.

The rain messed up our plans for another day in Colorado. I had planned on camping near Leadville and then doing Rocky Mountain National Park on Friday. Didn't feel like dealing with a cold wet tent, so we hauled ass back home.

The kid got his better pic of the arch.

All said and done, we put 4,062 more miles on a little subcompact. The rusty truck would have been neater on the salt, but the little red car got us there and back a whole lot cheaper.

I hope you guys enjoyed the photos.

You should have taken some pics to document your journey.

  23. Flipper,

Did you get a chance to see the engine (wondering if they kept the original 4 or 6)?

I didn't see under the hood. The car was a crazy mix of dodge, essex, and international pieces. ...but everything looked like it belonged there.

I kinda think I remember the owner saying it was a mopar flathead six.

That was the plan with taking so many pics.

At times it was hard to remember to take the shot, I caught myself getting caught up in the moment (especially on the salt).
