    Quote from that trip during a fire fighting drill;
    First Mate: "If an Exorset missile hits this container, it will be on fire."

    My buddy: "Dipshit, if an Exorset missile hits that container we'll be on the bottom of the fucking Persian Gulf!" (Container was full of ammo.)

    Damn glad I did both.

    Jeez Doc, Think of the bad ass tanks the HAMBers could build! Only one problem, the enemy would hear the open headers from a LONG way off!:D

    I was at the Car Givaway Saturday at the Nats and the band was doing their thing before the NSRA guys started their stuff....Anyway a guy in the band stopped and took a second to honor all the Vietnam Vets. It was a very cool moment for me and all the Vets there. Sorta nice that after 40 years someone is thanking us for our service.!!!

    They were'nt exactly quiet as it was. Thats why at stand to all tanks were fired at the same time. Our gasoline powered M88 would have 3 foot blue flames out the back at full throttle climbing a hill.:eek:

    whoops, now we're tellin stories:rolleyes:

    I haven't heard of any of those "Yacht Club" names for years. Got a shoulder patch from the Indian Ocean Yacht Club, dated 1983, with a carrier on it, not sure which carrier. Got another one from the Mediterranean Sea Yacht Club, with the caption "U.S. 2, Libya 0" from when we spanked Qaddafi's ass in the early '80s.
    Bet you got some stories about Subic, I've heard a few real interesting ones.
