I think it needs a pinstripe of silver or black. No offense but a buddy of mine has a old stock car body with that same color scheme. The number is white with a black shadowing and looks great.

I'm with Master Of None.... same problem, we both know of cool cars with similar colors... but both stock cars.

Not hard to see why we are thinking that because your car is two toned and stripped down like a car going in to be lettered

I guess my head was thinking two-tone -not stock car -
I aggree its starting to grow on me -never seen the compo paint ,with fenders -

  8. I kinda like it ,but without the fenders. Once the fenders are on, I don't know kinda streetroddy? I love the tire/ wheel choice though.

Never liked a two tone on a hot rod. Could be worse though, the color choices aren't bad.

Looks good to me. Just different.

  12. I would like to see a white pin strip on it and some of that fancy brush work.Stripes with swirls and stuff ,not sure what its called.

  13. Pinstripe for sure to break it up and no fenders.

you could paint a 34 with poop and it would look good imo.

  15. I like it.

I'd say bolt it together and drive it. If it doesn't come off like you thought, you can always redo it later. Hell you've only owned a few weeks and already gotten this far!

Isn't lettering on the doors going to make it even more 'stock car' (as soon as I saw the first photo I thought 'stock car')? Not necessarily a bad thing, but maybe a bit odd with full fenders?

But, at the end of the day it's your car...

With the door lettering, I think that will tie it all together. Just don't add a whole bunch more graphics all over it, just do the same logo. A shop owners car back then WAS different to attract business. Go finish it :)

  20. definietly pin stripe it. like the wheel combo

I think this is the reason I thought of stock cars, a Swiss coupe running at the Hayride a couple of weeks ago:

My coupe was 2 tone sim to yours -hood and trunk -I was hoping on the roof only would work -
I think I may go with a saved stock car -brought back to life in the day (early sixtys) love the sixtys
as a Garage car with Fenders
Now there's a Dare to be different
    :eek::eek::eek:

  25. Love it! Needs a stripe to seperate the colors and a number on the side. Maybe black??

Two tones make me think of restored VW's... Old car bodies have lots of dividing line opportunities, and I think some people can't help themselves! (Like painting the side cove on a Falcon, that always bugs me.)

I like it but it REALLY needs pin stripes....
It's cool that it's so different.

I agree with everyone on the stripes and lettering! And not just because I do that sort of thing. IMO the white is too bright. Could have been a little more antique white.
