I want to leave the stock 3 on the tree shifter in my 51 chevy when I do my auto trans conversion. Are there any tricks to getting the stock shifter to work right with a th350 ot 700r4?

    thanks!

No problem. Use the Lokar hook up kit.

That looks easier and safer than just welding the original gear selector like I was advised to do. With this you can keep you original shifter on the column?

Yes, and if your using a column from a standard transmission, I cut off the 1st and reverse lever and used the 2nd/3rd lever to the transmission. You won't have the reverse lockout feature but that has been designed into them as well. The transmission itself has the feel when moving into each gear and can be felt at the shift lever.

Looks like it would be pretty easy to make one with some heim joints and some threaded rod
