Crusty, that came out great. I really like the back end treatment. It flows well and was well executed. What tail lights are you running? One of the best 32 tank treatments I have seem. Nice ride

Keep on plugging ,Have you considered a pull type leaver under the dash like some early pickups .The function isn't that great .But it will slow you down in emergencies .You will also have to install 2 guide wheels and cut down the handle to fit the dash .

Looks like it was made for it! You'll probably want the body on before you do the final welds to make sure the angle is right.

Looking good! I don't think I could pull that off with '32 rails and fenderless though.

It does look right at home.

i will definetly fit the body and than final fit the frame and tank..after i get my shocks i will find out if I can tuck it a bit more too..
But it sure beats my original idea, and i have already fell in love with its simplicity..

any idea of the capacity it was supposed to be Ralph?

I think your right..the fenderless route kinda makes the 32 tank look like a ball sac hanging out all alone:eek:..not a good look IMO..but who knows maybe someone has found a trick to make it look good..
The fact Im going full fender will definetly help in making this a good fit

    Thanks..looks to be right..

my first fill up will surely let me know..

I want to move forward on my fuel set up, and some temporary electrical to fire up the engine soon, so I will be getting the chassis back on the ground and fit the body back on for a final fuel tank mock and fit, than clamp the tank mount and at least tac it in place.

I gotta find the right fuel sender too, and cap

I believe "Tanks" offers the pieces for this swap also.

Yeah, that is the same thing we thought when we were putting one on our coupe, without the fenders it looked like a duck dragging its ass on the ground, once the fenders are in place it comes together well.

looking forward to a pic with the body & fenders in place.

Yes they do, that is where we got ours.

  16. I did mine myself after buying the tank and frame horns. I welded the horns to .120 wall square tubeing so that the set up was parallel to the ground instead of having the frame horns droop down like they normally do. I moved the tank as far forward and upward as possible.

I also bobbed the rear fenders 3 inches in an effort to have the lower edge of the fenders be level with the spreader bar. I will prolly bob another inch out of them before I'm done.

Looks good, I have been toying with this idea for awhile, thanks for helping to make up my mind. Any advise you could give now that you have progressed this far on parts or placement? I was going to use the stock spring but now am planning to run coil overs if the tank is in back to cover them up. Much simpler.

    Randy,
Here are what the rear frame horn covers look like.

I have the tank Mounted now..
The mount will hold my 165# standing out on the ends of the horns without flexing.
Holding only 90# of fuel shouldnt be an issue.

  24. Just a thought, I was going to do it to the wife's coupe so I removed the rear subrail to tuck it up closer to the body like a 32, everything is put on hold now and I haven't had time to work on it.

  26. Old post but this helped me to decide what to do with my saddle tanks. I ditched them and made an 11 gallon custom tank. Deuce kit is so sky high priced that I did something different. I will use fenders, let's see if I need to form some sheetmetal in between them and tank

Any other pictures of this setup on fenderless A's? I'm looking at doing the Tank's kit on a 30-31 fiberglass sedan delivery using a '31 A frame.
