Not for any reason you should think about the why but I need the measurements of three separate cars and a trike...

First up, Dan Wood's "Milk Truck"

Second is the Dave Shuten "Ice Truck"

Thirdly I need the Chuck Miller "Fire Truck"

And if you get where I am going you may already know what bike I am looking for but it is the Ed Roth "Mail Box"

Thanks and as of this moment I am only in a design stage so don't be looking for anything. I just have enough fiberglass, plywood and carbon fiber (you heard right, mostly for strength as I would drive the shit out of them) and for the longest time, I would only have the body. Please help and thank you if you do.

Anybody own one of these rides? Can anyone get me on contact with the owners?

I do believe the "milk truck" is in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Sorry I don't have a name though.

  4. I know that this might be a long shot, but if anyone has the model kits of theses measure them and do the math. That is if the area is measureable that you need. Just a thought.

I thought about that and there are old, expensive kits but I already spent my money on other things. Okay so as I said earlier, does anyone know the owners? Could you get me in contact with them? Heck, I'll take a name! I am trying through other routes but I am not sure exactly how that will work out.

  7. buy a model kit of the milk truck (check e-bay) and scale it up. the mail box trike was (is) available or at least a reasonable likeness also.

Try the "on the workbench" section... He's using the Revell-Monogram Big T kit to make it. You could also use the newly released Big Tub kit to make one. This will requier scratch building body panels just like the real ones but on a smaller scale... Tell'em Deuces-wild sent ya! :)

So anyone else? Preferably an owner or friend of. With all of the users on this site, someone has to know someone.

It could also help if you told us what measurements in particular you need. Many can be taken from as little as a good photo. That is unless you want particular internal measurements.
Though, unless you are going to build replicas why not be a little original and come up with your own size and measurements?

    Doc.

Oh, I am going to be original with it. I just want the rectangle, height by length by width. Plus the frame wouldn't be terrible. I just need a good picture and the size of the steering wheel. I can do the math.:D

If you can find a dead on profile shot of any of them, you may be able to scale it. Figure the era these were built, they probably had 14 inch wheels. Make a mini ruler the length of the wheel diameter and use it to deduce the length and height. It will get you close. You could double check yourself by comparing to some other known feature, maybe a 3 inch wide blower belt for example.

    It's just a thought.
