Well I'l add some of my pics then. I'm not a great photographer but I did have a blast. Third time for me. Hats off to the Executioners cc and everyone involved for organising a great event. Here we go:

I took my van and a friend for the drive.

We left from the Netherlands and drove about 400kms to Duinkerke (F) to catch the ferry across the channel to England, stopping at nearly every gasstation on the way. I have a small LPG tank of 50 liters which only lasts around 200kms (LPG is about half as expensive as gas in Europe).

After the ferry, we had about 150kms to drive to Bisley and we arrived at around 21.00hrs, only to find an almost empty campground. Parked the van and headed off to the pub, where we met up with Henry & the Ford brothers from Holland. Henry is the guy who initiated the Rockin' Jalopy's Motorama Show in Rosmalen (NL). He also built this crazy Excalibur hotrod:

After a few pints, I hit the sack in my home for the weekend.

We went for a cruise around the camping grounds to see if there were interesting cars that were not in the show-area. This unfinished Willlys for example:

Ford Pop with a nice 70's look:

The meeting grounds belong to the NRA (National Rifle Association) and during the entire year, shooting contests are held and members are practicing. I'm telling ya, the sound of constant gunfire adds extra atmosphere to a car meeting! The grounds are also filled with old barracks, club houses, canteens and so on, making for a picturesque backdrop.

Lots of rusty pickups and panels around, this one was one of my favorites:

Aussies would call it a Ute? Could be a killer with the right paint.

Cool Greenbrier lurking underneath the trees. Really dig these Vans!

Although I'm just about almost done with the everpopular 5 window coupe, this one looked good.

Nice kolor combo. Vintage-drag-look is cool in my book.

Can't beat Metalflake in the sun for effect! Very cool panel, too.

Beauty in red with sixties wheels. Perfect for thin lakepipes.

    Very low.

    Very nice bare metal rod.
    Bar-B-Q-ing on Keystone Klassics!

    More to come...

  4. God, I wish I could make it home once a year, great pics thanks for sharing. I'll get back there one day

After seeing all the good stuff on the meeting grounds and campsite, on saturday morning we were off to the racetrack.

We arrived in time to see the Vintage F1 stockcars go round.
Some of these cars were raced in the 50s, some are reproduced. Some drivers are vintage too, in their 70s and still racing. The guy in the pink car was one. He started at the back of the pack every time but finished first every time.
This guy came all the way from Switzerland to race his stock car. Nice car, too.

    Old car, knackered metal.
    Tuning car with precision tools.
At the parking, we ogled some more beauties.
Pro street, street legal. The police never find it as funny as you do.
Imagine driving that to the shops. "Excuse me, could you pull your child's scarf out of my blower, please?"
Real custom pickup. Needs minor bodywork and a decent paintjob and we have a winner!
Meanwhile, back at the showgrounds....Someone was revving his Jag engined dragster...
See a video of that here:
Another very cool 'flaked methanol injected nostalgia dragster, originally built in 1969. Crazy Chris started it up after dark and the pretty flames and noise were quite spectacular.
He has a killer combo going with his spaced out support vehicle! See some history about this great racing team here.

More racers, really like the log. It's better than bad, it's good!

More rods, dusty from the racetrack.
    A clean station wagon.

And my favourite rod there. This one is made by Mark Brazier-Jones, apparantly a well known artist. He built a great original with huge wheels and I read somewhere he drove it to China, hero!
On such a long journey you might get bored so there is in-car-entertainment, oldschool style!
Hotrod Hayride and Executioners CC get a big thumbs up from Kustombart!
    See you there, next year!

I'm blown away at the quality of machinery you guys manage to put together. Working under the handicaps that you do the cars take a back seat to NO ONE. Thanks for sharing with us that are so far away we'll never get to experience it firsthand.

What handicaps would that be, Frank? We've got cars here, as well as skilled mechanics, welders, grinders etc.

The fact that we may not have so much aftermarket bolt-on goodies available means that we do have to be more inventive. Less "off the shelf" solutions. It makes for more variation, sure, but I wouldn't call it a handicap.

    I'd say that gas at $10 a gallon is a handicap! :D :p

Try LPG, at about half the cost of petrol. Conversions are about 1000 pounds for an old carburetted V8. Less if you do it yourself. So if you drive regularly, you will earn that back in no time at all.

Oh man, did we not have the best time ever?! Haven't had so much fun on a "car show" since S.I.N.S. 'cause it's so much more than just a car show. Next year we're doing the full monty, with a proper hotrod, dirt track action and soapbox action. And we've still got a year to make it all happen.
Many thanks to the guys and gals we met over there, you've been so much fun hanging around with.
Here's my favorite pic of the ones I made, more can be found on the Flake Kings blog: http://flakekings.blogspot.com

Cheers DG for posting that pic. It's the first Hayride my coupe has made.
I'm seriously considering finding a friendly farmer with a big field to let me practice driving the car like a twat so I'll be ready to get her sideways next year!!

    Ditto.
I was thinking of asking one of the stock car guys to take my car around. It was being hampered by an overcautious driver.. Me.
