Here is mine from about 8 years ago, chinese 48cc engine. Much more comfortable to ride with the apes and long forks, but the boardtrack look is awesome. This was before I had any fabrication skills. Coaster brake in the back, hand operated hub brake on the front. Ran 35-40mph on the flats.

Can anyone tell me what this engine is and where I could get one similar?
I'm having difficulty finding one like this where the countershaft is on the right-hand side of the engine. Seems like everything else has it on the wrong side, or is a 2-stroke.
I want to build one with a nice big 4-stroke like this and muffle it reasonably quiet.
Don't get me wrong...I like 2-strokes ok - rode motocross my whole life, but I want to be a little more low-key around the neighborhood instead of riding something that sounds like a weedeater.

I promised the wife I would never own a motorcycle again after I was all sewed and pinned back together from a crash, I think you boys just provided a loop hole for me. Cool.

This one is confusing me a tad. It looks like a Briggs from the recoil assembly. Looks like a Tecumseh Carb and air filter setup, but that was common to do that. The Tecumseh carb is more compatible for mini's and carts. I work on these things for a living and am not familiar with this setup. Overall I would say it is a hybrid of Briggs and Tecumseh.

Probably a tiller engine or from a mini or cart.

Damn, that motorbicycling.com site has some cool stuff on it, but I think I like that Tecumseh Briggs engine, I had a little Tecumseh on my first mini bike, tough little bugger I can guess those little Chinese engines must sound like chainsaws, how does this little mini bike engined one sound with that long exhaust? Would want a low slow rumble not killer bees sound wouldn't you guys? Gotta go find one of those old fat fendered Schwinns.

These look only slightly more dangerous than the Kawasaki 500 triples I used to ride. Sure can't handle any worse! I've been looking for something to cruise the neighborhood in, and don't want the hassle (and expense) of another motorcycle, looks perfect. I LOVE the board track look! Please, please, please bring one or more to the h.a.m.b. drags, I'd love to look them over!

I have to build one now.....going to start looking for parts tonight. Thanks for the post. One of those would look bad-ass in the back of my pick up. But it wouldn't stay there for long. Gary

Back in the 70's a company made a kick-start assembly that bolted on in place of the pull start on a Briggs & Stratton or Tecumseh for mini-bikes. Wonder if anyone still makes them?

Here's mine. Western Flyer bike with a Chinese 2 cycle. Good for around 35 mph. My buddy has a JET bike with a ram-jet in that that he built. It's insane.

Here's what I picked up at the Reno swap meet.
    190cc • 6.5 hp
First photo is just out of the original unopened box.
Second pic is stripped down to the basics. I put my helmet in there for size comparison.
My friend collects vintage bikes - now we got a new project.
