Event Coverage Road Devils Colorado present: "Thrill Rides @ Lakeside"

Attention Denver locals!

The Colorado Chapter of the Road Devils Car Club are putting on a show you and the family won't wanna miss! TODAY (July 31st, 2010)

A Rod & Custom show at Lakeside Amusement Park in Denver, CO located on 4601 Sheridan Blvd.

The cutoff date will be at 1972 even though we are a pre '65 club...since the park allowed this, we just want them to benefit from the show as much as possible.

Always thought that would be a cool place for a show. I've been wanting to get something going on their old midget track for a while... maybe someday

 

might see if i can get some of the LONELY KNIGHTS together and come up. sounds like it might be a good time...dave..backstreet kustoms

Would be great if the lowly knights and others came up from the springs! Hoping to make it down there for the ho down. Handed out tons of flyers this weekend and had great feedback. This show should turn out great!

 

Ill be there. Just walking around lakeside is a throwback to the 1940s and 50s. Great buildings, great signs, and great neon

 

That just might be doable!

 

Hopefully be at kbpi show giving out flyers and discount tickets for rides this Sunday at bandimere

I know! I couldn't stop drooling over that thing at the super cruise and last weekend at Streamline.

 

Is there an entry fee...or simply the Lakeside fee...???

No registration fee at all. Although we are trying to benefit Lakeside, and they are offering a discounted rate for their tickets, which I believe are $14 for unlimited rides...so bring friends and family!

 

Will see if some of the Hell Bounders might be able to make it up. Not sure yet. Kansas is gonna kick our ass. We might need a weekend to recoop.

 

Recuperate...??? What's that...??? How old are you...???

REAL hot rodders (or kustom guys) recuperate on the ride home...!!!

Man, I love Lakeside!! We used to go to the races, then to the park and ride the Wild Mouse. Good fun!

 

Lakeside brings back some great memories.

 

HA HA! I would agree but I am behind in the shop a bit and I am going to have to make it up next week. But I agree nonetheless.

 

What time does this start? ...For some reason my browser won't display the flyer.

 

Starts at 3, will go to about 7...and the park stays open till 11 or so.

There will be some good live music happening afterwards at the Horseshoe Lounge (414 East 20th Avenue)

"Flat Black and the Whitewalls” will be playing rockabilly. Special guest, “The Velveteen Loveseat” will kick things off around 9:30.

No Cover charge.

 

Benders is also having a really good show after the car show. Acoustic Profanity: A bunch of local punk bands doin acoustic sets.
