hey everyone just stopping in to say hello before I start droping all my questions on the boards. Names Rob from DeLeon Spring FL heres a shot of the old rust bucket as it rolled into my shop for the first time. shes a 1952 pontiac with a olds 350, shes now sporting suicide doors, shaved handels, frenched headlights, shaved turn sinals and parking light front and rear, all the chrome shaved from hood trunk and sides, quarter panel humps shaved, trunk bottom and jamb raised 3", trunk sectioned 1 3/4", fuel door filled and relocated behind emblem, 4" all the way around the bottom of the car was rusted so thats now all been replaced, all 4 power windows, and a/c. Everything is still in the RUFF mock up stage, theres still tons of surface rust to strip and all the body work needs 1 more skim coat before I start epoxy priming so please dont be to ruff on my body work, it far from being finished yet but heres a few pics of it now I'll throw some pics of the suicide doors and the front on tomorrow. rob
Welcome to the HAMB. Gotta love those old tin Indians!! Good job on the fuel-door relocation. What do you have in mind for tail lights?? Dave B. Ohio
thats a 53 pontiac, not a 52. you can tell by a few things. the side trim and holes are correct for a 53 but not a 52. also the wrap around rear window in 53 they made the rear window wrap around to the side. also the trunk is lower.... Yep, thats a 1953 chieftain deluxe,,,,, not a 52.
Welcome, This is a great site, A lot of great Rodders here with great help on anything on a car. Cool Poncho! I got two 40 Poncho coupes on a trade the other day Trying to decide what to do with them. But again you have came to a great site.
Cool Project and with an Olds engine no less. I always liked the one piece windsheld and I put one in my 51 Chevy. Hope to see more pictures has the project goes forward. I am also from God's Waiting room only over on the west coast of Florida. Jimbo
thanks everyone & thanks slickschoppers for the info on the years. When I bought the car the ad said it was a 51 & the title and vin said different. Its been a few mounths since I looked at the title and the old brain must be getting worse, I thought it was a 52, good thing you corrected me before I ordered something year spacific!! thanks again for the warm welcome everyone. I should have new pics up tomorrow rob
