I think this will fit right into the "Watson Inspired" theme for the FAS. I painted this panel as a donation to the Arties Party Charity Panel event at the Syracuse Nationals last weekend. shitty cell phone pic. Just got our digi back yesterday from the shop.

Here's a couple new for this week.
Both are oil on canvas. The Caddy is 24x30", the other is 20x28" and is of the Shark car built by Sinister Hot Rods. (sinisterhotrods.com for more pics!)
    Great show so far!

A drawing I've been working on just for fun - I roughly based it on a photograph from the HAMB; cannot trace back who posted it though.

  11. I will miss Larry's works greatly as well. He is one of the influences as to why I paint and pinstripe as well. R.I.P. Mr. Watson

Your stuff never ceases to amaze. Seriously, don't tell anyone else but I think that you are one of the best artists on the hamb, your work actually has depth and reality, plus it looks like it could be in the Guggenheim. And to the new guy, who did the coupe, that was killer. Cool work! Keep it up and post some more work next week. Keep it going guys and you all rock!

Sad about Larry. Sad about never going to get another chance to shake his hand and tell him thanks for all he has done. Maybe my painting seems to not be Watson inspired, but thats not true. Larry is part of that mix in my head that makes me love the old cars. He is a big part of that drive I have to keep painting and doing what I do. So I suppose here is my contribution this week. Watson inspired. You know what I mean don't cha?

Sometimes the inspiration is not about what they did - It's how they went about it, bold, different, making their own groove - Thats the inspiration that gets ya to Stepout and do your thing.

  17. I do Bernie, you mirror my own sentiments. Love this painting.

    Brit, my favorite of yours

    Ger, that is fantastic

Mr. Brown, amazing work. The Caddy is outstanding but the '32 is something very special; masterful work sir.

Larry Watson was an amazing painter. My two teenage son's think his work is outstanding and we have Zombie's rag here with the Tbird on the cover right now. Elijah is 14 and is inspired by ALL of you guys here and we are off to enter the following pictures in our county fair. The category is "Related Color" and when I get a chance, I'll get the "Related B&W" up as well.

Eli's submission to this time honored tradition, FAS!

Spun gold leaf flames on a bike I did back in 2005. These pics were taken before pinstriping them in red. I've been influence by all the oldtimers in one way or another. It's hard not to be.

I met Larry several years ago at the Paso event and found myself humbled to be a conversation with such an artistic genius...and guys that's what he was, his work is genius, it changed everything in this hobby, I find myself unable to accurately express my sadness at our loss...R.I.P. Larry... your work will live on.
