I did some white walls on my tires the other day, and they came out a little more dramatic than I anticipated.... did I go too wide for the era of my car?
Lower it with dog dishes and they'll look a bit better... but yeah they are pretty wide for that car.
1962 Tempests were the last cars to have wide whitewalls from the factory, and that's only because they had tires leftover from the previous year...
welll faacck, I dont know what to do now. I'm too poor to fix it. Its concluded it doesnt fit the era, but it doesnt look terrible does it?... haha I think im too self concious.
Who really cares? You building your car for you, or for a bunch of internet critics? If you like it, that's all that matters. Drive it till you need new rubber and put something different on it when you need to. It may not be period correct, but it still looks good.
ya ought lift it a bit, put some interco bogger 35's on 20'a the rear and TINY tiny ruberband tires on 13's on the front.. and paint the car chrome.
Dude "f" it They look fine. Era or not, Wide Whites are cool. I would run em. I agree with the lowering.
It's ok. Just drive it. The only people who know they're a little too wide are here on the board, and none of us care what the others think anyway. Go have fun.
Im ok with em wide but if you want them narrow, isnt that what tire black is for ? If you try that get a tire your not going to use and see if the white wall soaks it up and spreads it out,.Be better to let it be......................YG
