Just got the car back this evening from the upholstery shop getting some details worked out tomorrow then the game plan is to have the car headed out to Kansas Thursday morning.
The Chevy made it out to KS. the AC system needs some work and we did have a brake line get pinched on the frame rail but that has been repaired, when the projects are at the shop you can run them through all the test to see if there are any problems but nothing shakes down problems like a some good old fashioned road test we only had about 15 miles on this car when it left so if the brake line is the only hang up then were good. I havent talked with the owner yet to know what he thinks of the finished car, the Boss man took this car and a 32 five window out this weekend. Here are some of the finished shots of the car, it should make a great driver.
I saw this car and talked to the owner on Saturday morning at a gas station in Salina on the way down to the show. The flow and quality of work looks fantastic in the photos you posted, but even better in person!
I love it!!! this is trully a beautiful car.... hell of job!! i have a 51 poncho I have been collecting up all the parts on when I am done with the 32 it will hit the shop floor and I will post the build gonna be somthing quite unique as well!!!
It was a great car to build. if i was to do it again i would make a few changes on the car but that goes with every project. i really like how the back glass worked out. I realized when i was taking the car over to the alignment shop that this is the first convertible i had ever driven which is kinda cool.
A couple of those pictures made me think I was looking at a die-cast. Man that's a clean car, great job.
Amazing work! The roof is marvellous, the striping is cool and those Ford tail lights are just perfect touch for 51-52 Chevy. buut... along with some others, I too was a little dissapointed after the first pictures.. It looked bitchin' that way, chopped with the distinctive panorama rear window. I definitely wouldn't exchange that for a removable top or anything if I had a HT... But this great hobby is for self expression, and the greatness of it lies in that we all have different visions. It's a great build and a great thread, which I sure will get back to see some details! Thanks!
The 51 was back at the shop for a bit the ac system needed some work, i took the chance to pick my son up from kindergarten in this car, just plain cool. I like the stock back glass for the Chevy's but with the rear chopped and change that much to get the glass to fit would have been a pain.
Great looking car, I am very late to the party, I just wanted to tell you, you do great work. P.s. Really!! a Ferrari, a Delorean, a 32 ford and a 51 Chevy, you work at a candy store for grown ups. Godspeed MrC.
Great Job! car came out real nice ! I liked the white interior instead of the black. The removable top is awesome!!!
