From Vancouver British Columbia area. I think inspired by the Cort Elliott car of the 60's. Oops, it's a '53, sorry.
Mine not really a custom but its still my favourite though http://nsa14.casimages.com/img/2010/03/22/100322092316268391.jpg http://nsa15.casimages.com/img/2010/03/22/100322093021168371.jpg http://nsa15.casimages.com/img/2010/03/22/100322092404643625.jpg
I like the gold car of Cort Elliot, looks right, sets right, nice lines. Here is a current shot of the Larry Ernst Chev; 2nd version. Will be driven several times a week until the snow flies. This thread has been enjoyable to see the number of really nice 49-52 Chevs out there.
After reading most of the thread two are more times it is great to see all these 49-52's in one spot so to speak. Yes, there is some that make you wonder "what where they thinking". After seeing all these there are plenty of them I liked and I think I picked up on a few ideas for mine but Watson's is the greatest and the one Bullet Nose had in 57 is right up there with it. Ian, I really like yours to but it is just a little more than I would or could ever do, so I guess I will always lean towards the "mild' rather than the "wild".
